Osteopaths often treat headaches in adults and children. Tension-type headaches and cervicogenic headaches are some of the more common types of headaches, which can respond well to osteopathic treatment. They can be caused by tension and strain to muscles and joints in the neck. These headaches can vary in frequency and intensity, and can be associated with blurry vision, nausea, and can be incredibly debilitating at times. Osteopaths are skilled in assessing your type of headache, and will always advise on the most appropriate course of treatment for you.
Osteopathic treatment aims to relieve muscle tension, improve mobility in the cervical spine and improve circulation to tissues in your neck, which may ease the symptoms of headache. Rehabilitation programmes to address posture, stress, poor office ergonomics, or other triggers for your headache will also be considered, in order to address the underlying cause of your headache.
Who Do We Treat?
We treat patients of all ages with headaches - children, adults and the elderly.
Please note that we assess each patient on an individual basis, and only after a thorough assessment will we decide together on whether osteopathic treatment is suitable for you and your presenting condition.
